Purpose
This role owns the welding and plasma cutting torch product line, driving product strategy, development, and lifecycle execution. The position focuses on delivering customer-centric solutions, achieving revenue and profitability targets, and ensuring operational excellence. Depending on experience, scope, and demonstrated capabilities, the role will be leveled as either Product Manager or Senior Product Manager, with increasing responsibility for strategic leadership, product line ownership, and organizational influence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Roadmap
- Develop, manage, and execute the product roadmap aligned with category and portfolio strategies
- Prioritize initiatives by balancing business needs, technical feasibility, and customer expectations
- Identify opportunities for product innovation, new product introductions, and product line optimization
Product Development & Lifecycle Management
- Define product specifications, features, and enhancements based on market and customer insights
- Partner with engineering and operations to ensure timely development and operational readiness
- Manage the full product lifecycle, including launches, improvements, and product retirements
Customer & Market Insights
- Conduct market research, customer interviews, and competitive analysis
- Gather and analyze customer feedback to improve usability, adoption, and overall product experience
- Monitor industry trends and emerging technologies
Go-to-Market Execution
- Define pricing, positioning, and go-to-market strategies
- Support sales and marketing teams with training, collateral, and enablement materials
- Ensure successful product launches and measure adoption
Performance & Data-Driven Decision Making
- Track key performance metrics (revenue, profitability, adoption, retention, etc.)
- Use insights to optimize product performance and guide roadmap decisions
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, marketing, and customer support
- Drive alignment and ensure successful execution of product initiatives
Success Metrics
- Roadmap execution and on-time delivery
- Revenue growth and profitability vs. forecast
- Customer adoption and feature utilization rates
- Product execution and launch success
- Cross-functional alignment and project completion
- Innovation (new products, enhancements, SKU optimization)
Basic Requirements
All Candidates:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, marketing, or related field
- Experience in product management, product development, or related discipline
- Strong analytical, prioritization, and decision-making skills
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence stakeholders
- Approximately 30% travel (global for senior level)
- Selected candidate's Job Level and Pay Grade will be determined based on upon qualifications and experience
Product Manager Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in product management or related role
- Hands-on experience with product development, market research, and execution
- Strong ability to manage day-to-day product activities and deliver against defined roadmap
- Emerging subject matter expertise in product management practices and tools
- Works within established guidelines to solve problems and deliver outcomes
- Focus on execution excellence and continuous skill development
Senior Product Manager Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in product management or related role
- Proven experience leading product line strategy and managing commercial performance
- Demonstrated ability to own and drive product line profitability, pricing, and market positioning
- Advanced expertise in competitive analysis, customer insights, and portfolio strategy
- Recognized subject matter expert with broad organizational impact
- Ability to anticipate business challenges and lead complex, high-impact initiatives
- Operates with a high degree of autonomy and influences cross-functional and leadership decisions
- May mentor or guide other product manager
