Lincoln Electric is seeking an R&D Electrical Lab Technician for our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters. The R&D Electrical Lab Technician will play a key role in supporting our Machine R&D Commercial Products Group.

Responsibilities

 

  • Working within the Machine R&D laboratory, assist in the design, construction, documentation and testing of components, assemblies, and products.

  • Provide technical support to engineers and scientists in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.

  • Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.

  • Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formula and procedures and performs detailed mathematical calculations.

  • Conducts a variety of standardized tests; may prepare test specimens; sets up and operates standard test equipment; records test data.

  • Operate basic lab equipment including meters, oscilloscopes, temperature recorders, etc. (Training provided as needed).

 

Education & Experience Required 

 

  • Electronics experience a plus, Associate Degree in electronics preferred.

  • For a Level II Technician: Vocational Training & 3+ years of related experience OR high school diploma/equivalent & 5+ years of experience in related field.

  • For a Level III Technician: Vocational Training & 5+ years of related experience OR high school diploma/equivalent & 7+ years of experience in related field.

  • For a Level IV Technician: Vocational Training & 8+ years of related experience OR high School Diploma/equivalent & 10+ years of experience in related field. - May act as a lead, coordinating and facilitating the work of others but is not a supervisor.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team with excellent organizational skills.

  • Experience managing multiple projects at once within varying deadlines. 

  • Ability to use personal computers and common laboratory equipment.

  • Ability to read and comprehend wiring diagrams, schematics and test specifications.

  • Good hands-on assembly and troubleshooting skills.

  • Capable of lifting 60 pounds on an occasional basis.

  • Welding experience preferred, but not required.
