Overview of the Program

Lincoln Electric’s Supply Chain Internship Program offers individuals the chance to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Participants work on meaningful projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The program includes technical training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities like presentations and leadership-led learning sessions. It’s a great way to build skills, grow your network, and explore a future career in Supply Chain.

Potential Projects

  • Analyze supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and lead time improvements.
  • Identify root causes for why products are delivered to the wrong building and work with strategic sourcing owners to make corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with operations teams to enhance material staging and replenishment processes on the production floor.
  • Identify packaging improvements to reduce costs and support sustainability initiatives.
  • Map order-to-delivery processes and recommend changes to reduce cycle time and improve service levels.
  • Conduct cost-to-serve analysis for customer segments and present actionable recommendations.
  • Collect and analyze operational data to support continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency and cost reduction.
  • Support the introduction of a final mile visibility system including auditing internal processes, validating output data, supporting the roll-out of AI agents, and implementation of new KPIs from the analytical tools.
  • Document supply chain and procurement processes, contract standards, and other pertinent compliance or regulatory procedures.
  • Improve Ariba platform user adoption through conducting feedback surveys and interviews, identifying common pain points, and developing QRGs and short-form video guides as required.
  • Improve Ariba platform supplier adoption through analyzing current suppliers and adoption rates, and assess new opportunities through analytics assessment including spend and transaction volume.
  • Investigate BuyLinc approval workflow cycle times, target specific user groups for training, and suggest workflow changes to improve user experience.
  • Compose strategy packets for lower-volume, lower-dollar materials.
  • Collect samples of all materials purchased for display purposes and follow up with R&D on sample analysis results.
  • Outline agreements for LATAM regions.
  • Deploy master data across SAP and Kinetic sites.
  • Support PIRs, MOQs, and design governance activities.
  • Build should-cost models for engines.
  • Reduce tail-spend vendors in electrical commodities by qualifying preferred suppliers.
  • Other projects designed by leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree in any of the following disciplines: supply chain, engineering, or a similar field
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
