Lincoln Electric’s Supply Chain Internship Program offers individuals the chance to apply their academic knowledge in real-world settings. Participants work on meaningful projects, gaining valuable hands-on experience. The program includes technical training, mentorship, and professional development opportunities like presentations and leadership-led learning sessions. What You Could Work On
- Analyze supplier performance and identify opportunities for cost reduction and lead time improvements.
- Identify root causes for delivery issues and work with other teams to make corrective actions.
- Collaborate with operations teams to enhance material staging and replenishment processes on the production floor.
- Identify packaging improvements to reduce costs and support sustainability initiatives.
- Map order-to-delivery processes and recommend changes to reduce cycle time and improve service levels.
- Conduct cost-to-serve analysis for customer segments and present actionable recommendations.
- Collect and analyze operational data to support continuous improvement projects focused on efficiency and cost reduction.
- Support the introduction of a final mile visibility system including auditing internal processes, validating output data, supporting the roll-out of AI agents, and implementation of new KPIs from the analytical tools
- Document supply chain and procurement processes, contract standards, and other pertinent compliance/regulatory procedures.
- Improve Ariba platform user adoption, through conducting feedback surveys and interviews and identifying common pain points. Develop QRGs and short-form video guides as required
- Improve Ariba platform supplier adoption, through analyzing current suppliers and adoption rates (% compliance), and assess new opportunities through analytics assessment (spend and transaction volume).
- Investigate BuyLinc approval workflow cycle times, targeting specific user groups for training. Suggest workflow changes to current process to improve user experience.
- Compose strategy packets for lower‑volume, lower‑dollar materials.
- Collect samples of all materials purchased for display purposes and follow up with R&D on sample analysis results
What You Could Work On, Continued
- Design and implement outline agreements for LATAM regions.
- Deploy master data across SAP and Kinetic sites.
- Support PIRs, MOQs, and design governance activities.
- Build should‑cost models for use in supplier contract negotiations.
- Reduce tail‑spend vendors in electrical commodities by qualifying preferred suppliers.
- Other projects designed by leadership to address real problems!
Basic Qualifications
- Pursuing or having achieved a bachelor’s degree in engineering or business
- Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- A degree in any of the following disciplines: supply chain, engineering, finance, information systems, or a similar field
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0
- Desire to work in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
