Primary Function

Responsible for duties specific to Material handling and forming functions.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating the activities of small groups of personnel
  • Own and maintain a parts supermarket for a group of assembly work centers and/or lines
  • Responsible for validation of MPN and accurate and clear identification of parts
  • Elevate supply issues causing interruptions to production
  • Assist in expediting parts to ensure efficient operations
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production planning and QA departments
  • Handle all documents pertaining to receiving of parts for both internal and external suppliers
  • Utilizing handheld RF Scan guns or computer to perform required transactions in SAP
  • Rotating shifts as required
  • Participate in physical inventories with higher level of responsibility
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by departmental supervision
  • Ability to form or program components to fill production orders or fill Kan-Ban supply
  • Investigate and correct or elevate causes of daily replenishment issues
  • Ability to utilize SMT Smart Rack system to place components into appropriate storage locations
  • Ability to utilize accompanying Material Handling Smart Rack cart for storage and transportation of components

Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Prefer 2 years Warehouse, Receiving and/or Shipping experience.
  • Understanding of Kan-ban, ROP, and visual supply practices
  • Strict attention to detail while maintaining accurate records.
  • Ability to train and coordinate the activities of departmental personnel.
  • Ability to multi-task concerning the responsibilities listed. 
  • Ability to handle a changing series of priorities.
  • A service minded approach toward production work centers
  • Knowledge of the purchasing, computer systems, materials management, and inventory control.
  • Capable of working in a standing/walking position up to 12 hours
  • Proficient in the use of SAP software for receiving and production planning operation.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Excellent safety and attendance record.
  • Problem solving abilities.
  • Able to set up and understand various cut-off, forming, pressing, and chip programing equipment
  • Maximum weight lifted – infrequent basis 60 lbs.
  • Maximum weight lifted – repetitive basis 50 lbs.

Quality

  • Must understand the Company Quality Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Must be knowledgeable of quality procedures used in the Department and how they relate to the needs of our customers.
  • Must adhere to the various procedures, specifications and must ensure compliance with these standards.

Training

The Supervisor/Manager shall determine when an individual has completed the training and is qualified to assume these responsibilities. The Supervisor/Manager shall ensure that the employee receives “on the job training”, and the following training at the appropriate times. See Lincoln specification RE150-9-08 for training requirements.

Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

  • Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
  • Be aware of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
  • Work in a safe manner and observe all company EHS, and JHA procedures.
  • Follow safe equipment operating procedures and only operate equipment when guards are in place and in good condition.
  • Know that the company EHS procedures are contained in reference books, such as SSW Specifications, Plant Rules and Regulations. Safety Data Sheets are maintained and accessed in 3E and can also be accessed at Security in an emergency.
  • Immediately notify the Operations Manager if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS and JHA procedures.
  • Understand the difference in this job of Standard work tasks and Non-Standard work tasks.
