Primary Responsibility
The purpose of the Water Spider position is to minimize the disruption and variation for the employees assembling machines which allows the employees to concentrate on productivity.
Job Responsibilities
- Own and maintain a parts supermarket for a group of assembly work centers and/or lines.
- Ensure the parts supermarket maintains required stock levels and inventory accuracy.
- Supply quality parts and/or kits to assembly work centers and/or lines as required for uninterrupted production.
- Generate and/or schedule daily shortage reports.
- Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Production Planning, QA, and R&D departments.
- Collect, record, display, and communicate all production visuals.
- Elevate issues causing interruptions to production.
- Verify non-conforming scrap generated in manufacturing and post the results for display.
- Perform root cause analysis and identify corrective actions to resolve production issues.
- Support and enforce 5S, ES&C, quality, new products, and cost improvement initiatives.
Quality
- Support and enforce the Quality Policy, REQ1.
- Support and enforce all quality procedures used in the department and ensure it meets the needs of thecustomer.
- Monitor daily out of box warranty, warranty report, and other issues.
Skills, Aptitude, and Abilities
- Must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have minimum of 2-5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Experience, ability, and assertiveness to supervise and manage all functions of production inventory.
- Must understand and embrace a culture of lean manufacturing and 5S.
- Willing to successfully complete Grey/Red/ Black belt 6 sigma training.
- Willingness to execute 6 Sigma projects for certification, as determined by supervision.
- Must have basic computer navigation and utilization skills, willingness to work with and learn new technologies.
- Moderate hand dexterity is required.
- Capable of working in a standing/walking position up to 12 hours.
- Must be able to utilize powered and hand tools for assembly.
- Highly motivated with an excellent attitude and good communication skills.
- Must have an excellent attendance, safety, and work record.
- Must have an uncompromising attitude toward quality.
- Must have the interpersonal skills required to work closely with scheduling, manufacturing, QA, and other external departments to satisfy the line assembly needs.
- Maximum weight lifted – infrequent basis 50 lbs.
- Maximum weight lifted – repetitive basis 20 lbs.
Training
- The Supervisor/Manager shall determine when an individual has completed the training and is qualified to assume these responsibilities.
- The Supervisor/Manager shall ensure that the employee receives “on the job training”, and the following training at the appropriate times.

Environmental, Health, and Safety
- Contribute to a culture that promotes safety as its overriding priority.
- Understand the Company’s EHS Policy and how it relates to this job.
- Work in a safe manner and observe all company EHS and JHA procedures.
- Be aware of OSHA and EPA laws and regulations as well as the Company’s Plant Rules and Regulations that pertain to this job.
- Follow safe equipment operating procedures and only operate equipment when guards are in place and in good condition.
- Know that the company EHS procedures are contained in SAP and also in reference books, such as, SSW
- Specifications, Plant Rules and Regulations, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Immediately notify the Supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly, or if there are any questions regarding EHS and JHA procedures.
