Job Responsibilities

Summary of the Position

The Product Lifecycle & Value Engineering Manager is responsible for driving profitability, competitiveness, and operational excellence across Harris Products Group's released product portfolio. The role leads value engineering, product cost reduction, product rationalization, warranty reduction, supplier-driven product improvements, and complexity reduction initiatives while ensuring engineering data, specifications, and product documentation remain accurate and controlled. This position partners with Product Management, Procurement, Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and Supply Chain to deliver measurable margin improvement and sustain long-term product profitability.

 Key Deliverables 

  • Deliver annual material, labor, and overhead cost reduction targets across the product portfolio.
  • Reduce SKU, component, and assembly complexity through standardization, consolidation, and commonization initiatives.
  • Reduce warranty costs and field failures through root cause analysis and corrective engineering actions.
  • Evaluate and qualify supplier products and components that improve margin, quality, performance, or supply chain resilience.
  • Maintain accurate product drawings, specifications, BOMs, routings, and SAP master data.
  • Execute product enhancement, redesign, and obsolescence projects on schedule and within budget.
  • Capture and analyze Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback to identify unmet needs, product gaps, and emerging market opportunities, translating insights into product improvements, variants, and new product concepts that drive revenue growth.

Job Requirements

Education and/or Experience

Required – BSME or BSMET with 5 years mechanical / design engineering experience.

Preferred – Experience in the design of gas apparatus or related industry.

 

Key Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Qualities Required

Language Skills -   Read, write, document, interpret, and analyze documentation, procedures, and specifications. Communicate projects as required through presentations given orally and written. Must be fluent in English & Polish.                     

Mathematical Skills – Ability to perform design calculations or material strength, flow (Cv), pressure regulation, etc. as outlined in CGA E-4 and E-5, statistical 6 sigma analysis and perform cost estimates. It is necessary to perform these manually with calculator or through Excel spreadsheet.                                  

Reasoning Ability -    Solve problems based on data collected or presented using experience or engineering techniques.                                    

Other Qualities – Knowledge of ISO, CGA, and UL standards. Must be proficient in the use of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, SAP and Microsoft Office software products. The ability and understanding of maintaining accurate detailed design records.
