Position Summary
Manages the flow of goods by verifying, packing, and shipping outgoing orders while receiving, inspecting, and stocking incoming inventory and direct material for assemblies, SRV’s, Sales Orders and Job Numbers requiring assembly. Coordinates the transfer of materials, parts and finished products between assembly areas. Administers and operates the organization's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of consumables, materials and equipment. Coordinates the storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures.
Primary Responsibilities
- Shipping: Pick, pack, label, and load outgoing orders to ensure timely delivery to customers.
- Receiving: Unload trucks, inspect shipments for damage, verify contents against purchase orders, and record incoming inventory. Notifies Direct Manager and Project Manager of damages when they are identified.
- Coordinates the movement of materials between departments.
- Coordinates freight carriers pick up and deliveries.
- Maintain proper packaging and shipping documentation.
- Ensure material inventory levels are sufficient to meet production schedules. (Kanban)
- Investigates and corrects reported discrepancies
- Reports and adjusts inventory levels as approved by accounts payable.
- Assists with the relocation of systems and associated materials as needed in response to the Production Manager.
- Produces quarterly and year end cycle count reports and physically counts inventory to maintain inventory integrity.
- Assists with system-level loading and unloading as needed in order to meet customer delivery dates.
- Delivers items to requisitioning departments and designated assembly staging areas.
- Operates load/unload equipment for shipments.
- Consolidates stock and purchased items for kitting to sub-assembly department.
- Manages input/output of information for discrepant material and RMA processing.
- Organize storage areas, maintain a clean workspace, and ensure safety compliance.
- Reconciliation of shipping invoices to determine proper GL payment.
- Accurately builds assembly carts in a timely manner to accommodate BOM release and staging of assembly material.
Qualifications Required
- Experience: 2-3+ years in logistics, warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- General understanding of supply chain, lean manufacturing, inventory control and auditing practices.
- Proficiency with inventory software/ERP databases. (Epicor)
- Ability to detect problems and report information to appropriate personnel.
- Ability to read, understand, follow, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers.
- Knowledge of light equipment operation and/or maintenance.
- Ability to receive, track, stock and distribute materials, supplies, and equipment.
- Ability to lift and manipulate heavy objects.
- Ability to operate forklift and overhead crane.
- Ability to package equipment and load into semi-trailers efficiently and safely.
- Knowledge of postal or commercial shipping methods and procedures.
- Good verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Work in varying warehouse temperatures.
- Strong ability to multitask.
