Position Summary
Develop concept layouts and equipment designs for Lincoln Electric Automation-designed systems using CAD tools and 3D modeling software. Support the sales and engineering teams by creating equipment concepts, manufacturing layouts, and presentation materials that accurately communicate proposed solutions to customers. Provide design support throughout the quotation process, incorporating manufacturing requirements, customer specifications, and simulation results when applicable. Experience with robotic and process simulation software is not required but is considered a significant advantage.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop concept layouts, equipment designs, and manufacturing cell arrangements using CAD software.
- Create 2D and 3D models, assembly drawings, and supporting documentation for proposal and engineering activities.
- Assist with the development of equipment concepts that meet customer, manufacturing, safety, and cost requirements.
- Support quotation activities by providing layout drawings, renderings, and presentation materials.
- Collaborate with engineering, sales, customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to develop practical automation solutions.
- Incorporate feedback and design changes throughout the proposal and project development process.
- Utilize simulation tools, when applicable, to validate manufacturing processes, equipment layouts, and cycle time requirements.
- Maintain design standards and follow Department ISO procedures.
- Support customer meetings, presentations, and trade-related events as needed.
Role Qualifications
- Must be familiar with Company quality objectives and play an active role in reaching continuous improvement objectives.
- Play an active role in communicating issues that could impact customer satisfaction.
- Must be familiar with the different manufacturing processes and the correct application of each
- Ability to visualize and develop equipment concepts and manufacturing layouts that support customer requirements.
- Experience with simulation software and virtual validation tools is a plus.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Minimum High School Diploma; Associate degree in technical discipline desired.
- CAD proficiency required; 3D modeling experience strongly preferred.
- Experience creating concept layouts and equipment designs for industrial or manufacturing applications.
- 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing and design (mechanical/electrical) of industrial equipment required.
- Preferred 1-2 years of experience working with customers and suppliers.
- Experience with simulation software is a significant plus but not required.
- Proficient in Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- Effective writing and communication skills.
