Job Responsibilities
Provide technical assistance to department personnel.
- Manage and direct the daily activities of Area Managers in the following departments: Copper Manufacturing, Aluminum Manufacturing, and Cooper Bends.
- In line with corporate policy, conduct daily reviews with Area Managers on:
- S: Daily order and cleanliness
- Q: Internal and external quality control issues
- D: Milestone compliance and corrective actions
- H: Attendance and daily personnel assignment
- C: Job hour consumption to properly control Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Human Resources
- Supervise project budgets (weekly remaining hours to completion).
- Daily project status review to understand the critical path and drive problem-solving.
- Develop and review processing and master scheduling.
- Machine shop – Review schedule compliance/critical parts/Manufacturing/Painting.
- Expeditors – Follow-up on delivery of manufactured parts and quality assurance with Supply Chain.
- Kits department – Troubleshooting and schedule compliance.
- For newly awarded projects, review the manufacturing schedule and process parts accordingly to achieve energization.
- Regular follow-up and updates based on engineering releases, material delivery, and customer-requested changes.
- Monitor material delivery for critical items.
- Weekly publication of active job list.
- Proper workload distribution – capacity planning in hours.
- Weekly communication with the team on delivery status.
- Attend Production meetings twice a week – Drive the critical path based on shop floor status.
- Purchase requisitions and invoice approvals – related to manufacturing.
- Recommend improvements for buildings, facilities, and equipment. Maintain the building in good condition.
- Participate in and lead manufacturing alignment and internal approval meetings.
- Ensure proper storage of materials and work-in-process (W.I.P.) supplies.
- Support and follow company EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) guidelines.
- Responsible for all administrative requirements for hiring, termination, discipline, merit recognition, and technical development of all direct reports.
- Provide constant feedback to the General Manager on project issues.
- Responsible for determining training requirements for manufacturing staff.
- Maintain a professional and cooperative relationship with all Harris Product Group personnel and actively participate in problem-solving with other departments regarding company objectives.
- Comply with safety regulations and ensure compliance by the team under your supervision.
- Be aware of the environmental impacts of the areas under your responsibility.
Authority
- Manage the manufacturing of the company’s products.
- Direct all activities and tasks related to product manufacturing.
- Manage all resources (human and equipment) necessary for the success of the manufacturing area.
- Stop operations and processes that pose a danger to personnel safety and/or the environment.
Job Requirements

Minimum 5 years as an Operations Manager.
- Minimum 10 years in a previous supervisory role in a similar industry (preferably manufacturing/assembly).
- Minimum 15 years of work experience in a similar industry (metal-mechanical, steel, aluminum).
- Strong knowledge in welding, machining, assembly, and team management.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Solid computer skills, preferably with Microsoft Office and ERP systems experience.
- Knowledge in lean manufacturing.
5.0 SKILLS AND EDUCATION
University degree in engineering or a related field. Other degrees may be considered with relevant experience.
Master’s degree in progress or completed (desirable).
Ability to prioritize work and adapt schedule to meet deadlines.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Willingness to work in a dynamic and competitive environment.
