Machine Operator--2nd Shift

The Lincoln Electric Company--Kaliburn location engineers and manufactures plasma cutting systems, plasma torches, plasma consumables and control system units for high-tech cutting applications. Building new products that constantly raise the bar in the industry is possible through a strong foundation of engineering talent such as mechanical, fluid dynamics, heat transfer and software engineers.

This position is for our second shift: Monday-Friday, 3:00pm-11:30pm.  

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Operate multiple mills, lathes and CNC machines for the manufacturing process
  • Monitor machine operations to ensure finished products and components meet quality and productivity measures
  • Meet daily production requirements
  • Operate all machinery, tools and equipment safely
  • Perform daily machine maintenance—coolant level, oil level, chip removal, etc. 
  • Follow blueprints and work instructions
  • Perform offsets to keep parts within tolerance
  • Replenish, stock and sort needed supplies
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and safety standards
  • Report problems to trainer
  • Perform general shop duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires

 

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • High school diploma/GED OR equivalent experience
  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Lift up to 30 pounds unassisted
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to learn and retain knowledge
  • Self-motivated with a positive attitude
  • Flexibility with overtime, including occasional Saturdays, where heavy workloads occur

 

PREFERRED SKILLS

  • Knowledge of the 6-Sigma System
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles

WORK ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, airborne particles, and machine lubricants and chemicals used in cleaning processes.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
