PRIMARY FUNCTION
Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on CNC equipment and systems. Perform general building maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Troubleshoot malfunctions in CNC machinery and equipment
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment, such as motors and pumps, pneumatic tools, production machines and equipment, in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications
- Start and stop devices to test performance
- Properly maintain all equipment; machines; services; minor plumbing; HVAC and mechanical; minor carpentry; and grounds work such as installing posts for signs and fixing bridge/gazebo repairs
- Perform minor electrical maintenance to include, but not limited to, replacement or repair of fixtures i.e. wall switches and outlets, fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballasts, sockets, fuses, and cords
- Perform basic preventative maintenance on CNC machines, i.e. change a/c filters, CNC filters, LOSMAS filters, etc.
- Contact and schedule outside vendors for repair of machines (mechanical or electrical), plumbing, air lines, and HVAC, when technical expertise is not available in-house
- Initiate quotes and requisitions for repair and preventative maintenance parts and machines; may request purchase orders for parts and machines
- May purchase parts for repair and maintenance of machines and/or facility
- Maintain inventory levels for preventative maintenance items i.e. AC filters, CNC filters, light bulbs, oils, belts, coils and machine parts
- Maintain and set-up new tools in CAP database
- Assist EHS Coordinator to repair, maintain or test emergency lights, security and fire alarm, repair safety issues
- Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires
REQUIRED SKILLS
- Minimum of two years’ experience maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing CNC machinery, equipment, and general building maintenance in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient operation of fork lift truck and scissor lift
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions, such as schematics, operation manuals, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer’s specifications, to complete tasks
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Strong technical and analytical troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of electrical theory
- Ability to use hand tools and power tools
PREFERRED SKILLS
- Technical degree in electronics and/or machine technology
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration, airborne particles, and machine lubricants and chemicals used in cleaning processes. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The employee is frequently required to grip and operate hand tools with a minimum of 50 in/lbs of force. Specific vision abilities required by this job include depth perception and ability to adjust focus, and the ability to discern all colors on color-coded wiring circuitry.
