Job Responsibilities
- Develop and Implement Safety Policies and Procedures in accordance with National and local requirements, as well as Corporate EHS requirements and ensure ANZ’s WHSMS remains up-to-date with all legislative changes from time to time
- Maintain a complete risk assessment on all required sites including: Padstow, Gladstone, Mackay/Innisfail, Newcastle, Perth and Melbourne
- Maintain risk register that documents identified hazards, assessed risks, control measures, actions required and responsible persons
- Define safety requirements and provide guidance to relevant site Workshop Manager and Workshop EHS Contact to mitigate risk and maintain legal compliance and obligations, including tasks such as site inspections and training
- Define a country-level strategy for risk mitigation and sustainability improvement
- Define and manage required training for each workshop and job task, including induction training as well as periodic refresher training
- Implement risk mitigation measures for employees working and performing work offsite and on customer sites
- Prepare and submit regulatory safety and environmental reports for each site, and manage corporate reporting systems such as ETQ Reliance, UL360, 3E, and VelocityEHS
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement preventive measures
- Provide Toolbox Talk topics to frontline supervisors and team leaders, and assist in delivering key points regarding safety and the environment
Job Requirements
- 8+ years Safety leadership experience
- Tertiary degree qualifications in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Engineering or Science, or a related field
- Certification with the Australian Institute of Health & Safety (AIHS) or equivalent. Additional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)
- Completed Apply Risk Management Processes (RIIRIS301E), Carry Out The Risk Management Process

- RIIRIS402E), Implement and Maintain Management Systems to Control Risk (RIIRIS501E) and Establish and Maintain the Risk Management System (RIIRIS601E)
- Exceptional knowledge and experience of Australian safety legislation
- Exposure working in global organisation
- Experience working for a US multinational organisation in Manufacturing and distribution business
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation, communication and organisational skills
- Influential and manages to drive change
- Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks simultaneously and deal with people at all levels
