Job Responsibilities
- Interpret Technical Documents: Study blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements, measurements, and fabrication methods.
- Prepare Materials: Select, clean, and prepare metal stock to ensure it meets project and safety standards.
- Cut Metal Components: Mark out and cut metal sections using hand tools, flame cutting torches, and metal-cutting machinery.
- Shape and Form Materials: Shape, bend, and form metal parts and pipes using hand tools, machines, and heat‑assisted methods such as heating and hammering.
- Assemble Components: Align and position metal parts using hand tools and measuring instruments to prepare for joining.
- Join Metal Sections: Weld, bolt, and rivet components using various industry‑standard techniques to create strong, precise joints.
- Quality Inspection: Examine welds and joints for accuracy, penetration, bead width, and overall quality, ensuring compliance with specifications.
- Finishing Work: Clean, grind, file, and chisel welds and components to achieve smooth finishes and prepare items for installation or additional fabrication.
Job Requirements
Qualifications: Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent.
Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in metal fabrication, welding, or boilermaking.
Licences & Tickets: Current forklift licence, and rigging and dogging tickets (essential).
Working at Heights: Capability and certification to safely perform work at heights.
Technical Skills: Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities for diagnosing fabrication or welding issues.
Attention to Detail: High level of precision when interpreting drawings, fabricating components, and inspecting welds
Candidate who are permanent citizen or has got eligible working rights to apply for the opportunity
Physical & Motor Skills: Excellent hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity for precision fabrication tasks.
Equipment Operation: Ability to safely operate fabrication machinery, welding equipment, and power tools.
Safety Knowledge: Understanding and adherence to safe working practices, workplace procedures, and relevant WHS requirements.
