Overview of the Program
Lincoln Electric’s Computer Programing Engineering Development Program offers participants the opportunity to apply their coding and software development skills in real-world environments. Co-ops work on impactful projects involving software development, automation systems, data analysis, and industrial applications, gaining hands-on experience with technologies used in modern manufacturing and engineering operations. This position requires participation in our Immersion Day at our Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses.
Participants in this program contribute to designing, developing, testing, and optimizing software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The program also includes technical training, mentorship from experienced professionals, and professional development opportunities such as presentations, coding reviews, and leadership-led sessions.

Join a 12-month immersive engineering training program at our Michigan City, IN facility, featuring:
What You'll Work On
- Machine or system design.
- Create detailed design specifications, manufacturing instructions, assembly drawings, and testing protocols.
- Testing of prototype equipment.
- Execute quality control processes to resolve production problems.
- Develop new consumables through applied research.
- Assist in the design and implementation of safety mechanisms and controls for industrial machinery.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering (or engineering technology) by June 2027
- Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications
- An engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Industrial, Material Science, Welding, Packaging, Metallurgy, Computer Science.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Desire to work in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmen.
