Major Responsibilities
- 16 month term duration
- Working with and assisting Manufacturing Engineers
- Generating drawings, models or layouts using Solid Edge & AutoCad
- Generating or updating process documentation using MS Office, SAP and other software
- Mechanical design and revision to production machine and tooling drawings
- Organizing and conducting production trials and experiments
- Testing and measurement as required for process development activities
- New product/machine implementation in production
- Working with vendors to obtain quotations, issuing purchase orders
- Implementing suggestions from shop floor employees
- Other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Engineers
- Reviewing, understanding, and departmental procedures, Plant Rules and Regulations and the Job Hazard Analysis that are associated with the performance of this job.
- Abiding by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees.
- Actively participating in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company.
- Continually contributing to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- Conducting any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Manufacturing Engineering or Designate in a timely and professional manner.
Desired Knowledge/ Skill
- Working toward completion of Mechanical, Mechatronics degree.
- Mechanical design and manufacturing print creation experience.
- GD&T
- CAD skills: Solid Edge, SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- MS Office applications. In particular, MS Excel.
- Basic statistics knowledge
- Basic lab skills
- Programming skills beneficial: C#, VBA, Python, PHP, PLC programming
