General Job Description
The Mechanical Build Manager leads and drives the success of mechanical build operations, ensuring projects are executed with precision, efficiency, and excellence. This role is responsible for overseeing a high-performing team, optimizing resource allocation, and delivering complex mechanical builds on time and within budget—without compromising quality or safety.
As a key leader within the manufacturing organization, the Mechanical Build Manager partners closely with engineering, project management, and business leadership to translate designs into successful, real-world solutions. This role champions continuous improvement, standardization of best practices, and the development of team capabilities to support both current and future business needs.

Summary of Essential Job Functions & Duties
- Schedule, delegate and balance mechanical build resource allocation across manufacturing teams; ensuring optimal resource utilization, and on time project completion.
- Manage all mechanical build employee personnel situations, including vacation scheduling, timekeeping, performance reviews, salary recommendations, and other personnel issues as pertaining to the team.
- Responsible for immediate and secondary team member’s performance, workload, adherence to budget, timeline and quality.
- Assist in determining need for, and lead outsourcing manufacturing requirements, if necessary.
- Assist in driving communization of manufacturing best practices across the department.
- Assist in effective communication of project status with project management and business leadership.
- Monitor teams to insure adherence to budget, timeline, and quality.
- Lead and mentor direct reports.
- Develop, manage, and execute training plans for team members.

- Participate in recurring manufacturing status report meeting.
- Review employee evaluations created by all subordinate leaders, and evaluate for standardization and compensation recommendations if applicable. Access to all team compensation rates.
- Collect, monitor and report manufacturing KPI’s.
- Develop and execute departmental continual improvement activities, based on KPI reporting.
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment for the manufacturing team.
- Actively participate in manufacturing department staff meetings, discussions, and initiatives.
- Represent the manufacturing function business-wide as necessary.
- Support department continuous improvement initiatives.
- Participate in ISO training and audits.
- Any other assignments as deem appropriate.
Requirements
- Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering or in a related field of study or 10+ equivalent years of experience in related field.
- 5+ years of experience within the manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of supervisory/managment experience, preferred.
- Proficient using MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams/
- CAD experience preferred/

- Ability to travel to other company sites as well as customer sites as required;
