Job Responsibilities

General Job Description:
The Mechanical Build Technician helps create, maintain and repair mechanical components and equipment. They work with other technicians or engineers to keep machinery and specialty equipment running correctly.


Summary of Essential Job Functions & Duties:
 Assembles components according to assembly drawings, engineering memos, sketches, and knowledge of machine construction.
 Constructs, rebuilds, and repairs machines and equipment.
 Maintains and improves facility requirements, including installation of equipment.
 Knowledgeable with pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic integration.
 Work closely with engineers and general contractors.
 Travel as required.
 Participate in ISO training and audits.
 Any other assignments as deemed appropriate.
Summary of Objectives:
 Safety – help create a safe work environment by adhering to RedViking’s safety standards.
 Quality – Ensure all technical work adheres to RedViking Quality Standards.
 Standards – Assist the team to standardize on best practices for creating, repairing and replacing all work.
 Rework – Eliminate rework after job is complete by ensuring work is completed per scope of work and RedViking Standards.

Job Requirements

Requirements:
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required. A Technical degree is a plus. 2 – 3 years of hands on mechanical experience working on a plant floor is preferred.


Experience must include:
 Ability to identify and implement efficient paths of action to finish assigned work;
 Should be able to test, calibrate, diagnose and repair various devices;
 Must be able to read and follow blueprints;
 Must be able to communicate clearly, articulately and professionally;
 Must have appropriate schedule flexibility, sense of urgency, motivation and versatility to make a substantial contribution to the organization’s success;
 Ability to interact positively and constructively with all RedViking team members while representing company in a professional manner;
 Willingness to work “above and beyond” in order to meet company goals;
 Ability to travel to other company sites as well as customer sites as required;
 Well organized, detail oriented and self-motivated;
 Must have excellent time management skills;
 Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
