Job Responsibilities

We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our team. The qualified candidate will support the production team by evaluating the order backlog, planning production activities, printing and organizing production documents, and assisting the production supervisor with scheduling activities.
 
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
•    Maintain and distribute the master production schedule to support customer requirements and production objectives
•    Review order backlog and production demand to identify work orders required for the manufacture of finished goods, subassemblies, and components
•    Monitor material availability and identify shortages that may impact production schedules
•    Coordinate with production, inventory, purchasing, and other departments to resolve material and scheduling issues
•    Generate and distribute production work order packets, including work orders, drawings, and supporting documentation
•    Run and analyze production reports and communicate information as required
•    Expedite work orders and adjust production priorities as needed to meet delivery commitments 
•    Maintain planning data, including routings, bills of material, and other ERP/MRP system information
•    Support the completion and closure of work orders and production operations
•    Monitor production performance against schedule and communicate potential delays or constraints
•    Attend production meetings and participate in cross-functional planning activities
•    Support continuous improvement initiatives and process development activities
•    Analyze capacity, material availability, and production constraints
•    Support inventory accuracy and cycle-count initiatives
•    Adhere to all health and safety requirements
•    Perform general duties as assigned and assist in other areas as workload requires

Job Requirements

REQUIRED SKILLS
•    High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience
•    2+ years of experience with ERP/MRP systems
•    Advanced computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
•    Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited  standardization exists
•    Intermediate math skills including the ability to calculate percentages, proportions, area, circumference, and volume 
•    Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization, both verbally and in writing
•    Strong attention to detail and accuracy

PREFERRED SKILLS
•    Experience using SAP
•    Experience in a manufacturing environment
•    Associate’s degree in business, supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field

WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee will frequently transition between office and manufacturing environments.  The employee will regularly interact with production personnel and may occasionally be exposed to moving mechanical equipment, noise, dust, and varying temperatures within the production facility. Appropriate personal protective equipment may be required when entering production areas.
