Position Overview

The Installation Supervisor is responsible for leading the planning, coordination, and execution of installation activities across multiple disciplines, including controls, electrical, mechanical, and pipefitting. This role manages both internal technicians and external contract resources to ensure installations are completed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with Fori and customer standards. The Installation Supervisor works closely with project management, engineering, sales, and customers to deliver high‑quality installation outcomes and exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

Resource Planning & Scheduling

  • Lead the forecasting, allocation, and scheduling of all installation resources, including internal technicians and contract personnel.
  • Develop and maintain detailed weekly schedules for the installation department.
  • Track and maintain resource history, experience, certifications, location, and equipment assignments.

Field Team Leadership

  • Supervise and support field technicians across controls, electrical, mechanical, and pipefitting trades.
  • Participate in daily line‑up meetings to ensure field personnel have the information and documentation required for successful installations.
  • Assist with technician onboarding, including site‑specific safety orientations.
  • Perform site manager duties as needed to support project execution.

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with sales and estimating to review installation scopes, resolve customer issues, and support quote evaluations.
  • Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams throughout all phases of project installation.
  • Facilitate communication between project management teams and field personnel to address issues, updates, and resource needs.

Vendor & Contractor Management

  • Coordinate external installation and service contractors; negotiate rates, schedules, and scopes of work in collaboration with project management and purchasing.
  • Procure, compare, and evaluate quotes for outside installation services.
  • Support contractor onboarding, invoice approval, and resolution of payroll discrepancies.

Process Oversight & Quality Assurance

  • Ensure consistency in installation RFQs, site reporting, documentation, and standard practices across all projects.
  • Oversee installation procedures and implement process improvements for efficiency and quality.
  • Ensure all installation work meets Fori and customer standards, requirements, and expectations.
  • Maintain installation dashboards and department metrics.

Project Support

  • Assist project managers with installation planning, resource coordination, and schedule adherence.
  • Ensure completion of service work orders and customer tracking documentation.
  • Provide comprehensive updates and reporting to internal stakeholders as required.
  • Participate in internal and external reviews of project installation scopes.

Customer Support & Service Development

  • Meet with customers to address installation concerns and ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain 24/7 availability for the Fori customer helpline on a rotating or designated basis.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of strategies to grow service group revenue.

Qualifications

Preferred Experience & Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, technical degree preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in site and installation lead.
  • Minimum of 7–10 years of industry experience.
  • Prior experience supervising installation, field service, or skilled trades teams.
  • Strong organizational and scheduling skills, with demonstrated resource‑planning experience.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication skills and comfort interacting with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and controls installation practices.
  • Experience working with contractor management, procurement, or vendor negotiations.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and field technician onboarding processes.
  • Experience leading on-site and off-site service personnel.
  • Ability to travel up to approximately 15%.
  • Valid U.S. Passport and ability to travel to Canada.
  • Experience with Concur and ERP systems (Epicor preferred).
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (notably excel, and project).

Work Environment

  • Combination of office-based planning work and on-site field supervision.
  • May require occasional travel to customer sites.
  • On-call availability for customer support as required.
