Major Responsibilities
- To report to the Shift Foreman and communicate all matters or concerns pertaining to the operation of an Industrial Vehicle.
- To supply the operators & extruders with the proper raw materials to successfully perform their job tasks.
- To empty/ refill the raw material storage with appropriate materials in a safe manner as directed by the Shift Foreman and/ or his designate.
- To return contaminated raw materials or items deemed as scrap or waste to its disposition area i.e scrap bins, garbage bins and inform the Shift Foreman.
- To return raw materials that is left at the end of the production run to the correct storage area.
- To identify the raw material that is being returned to storage with the size product, formula number, permission note number (when it applies), date, shift and any other information that will assist in identifying the material.
- To prepare the raw material that is brought out of storage at the beginning of the production run.
- To review, understand, and follow the departmental procedures, CEW/EW Specifications, CSSW/SSW Specifications, and Plant Rules and Regulations that are associated with the performance of this job.
- To understand the company’s Quality Policy and how it relates to this job.
- To actively participate in continual improvement projects as assigned by the shift foreman.
Major Responsibilities Continued
- To complete assigned general forklift duties and tasks to support both CORED and MIG wire depts. based on production demands.
- To work in a safe manner and observe all company safety procedures.
- To operate equipment only when guards are in place and in good condition.
- To follow safe equipment operation procedures and use all required personal protective equipment.
- To understand and follow the Company’s Equipment Tag-Out Procedures
- Abide by and actively support Lincoln Electric’s Environmental Health & Safety policies, practices and procedures with respect to protecting the environment, the conservation of natural resources and the Health & Safety of all employees
- To participate co-operatively as an employee within the company’s GPMP and Merit Rating System.
- To actively participate in company, staff or individual one-on-one meetings on an ongoing basis for the purposes of effective teamwork, enhanced communication and progressive co-operation strategies within the department as well as other departments across the company.
- To continually contribute to the profitability of the company and ongoing business operations by initiating, recommending and implementing continuous improvement strategies and initiatives.
- To conduct any general duties, specific projects and responsibilities as assigned or required by the Shift Foreman or Designate in a timely and professional manner.
- Check and record dust collector levels on the preventive Maintenance check list. Change drums on dust collectors in the Cored Wire & Solid Wire departments as required.
- Load or unload after hour’s deliveries as required. All paperwork must go to shipping office mailbox.
- Use the weight scale and log scraped material in the log book as required.
Position Requirements & Factors
Basic Requirements:
- Tow Motor License – Propane and Electric.
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
Minimum Experience Requirement:
- More than 3 months but less than 6
- Counter Balance Forklift Operator License
