Overview of the Program

Vanair’s Engineering Trainee Program offers hands-on experience in product design, development, and testing within a leading manufacturer of Mobile Power Solutions. Participants will work alongside experienced engineers to support the design and improvement of vehicle-mounted air compressors, generators, welders, and other custom products. This program is ideal for individuals passionate about mechanical systems, innovation, and real-world engineering applications. This position requires participation in our Immersion Day at our Cleveland, OH headquarters during one of your first few weeks. Lincoln Electric will provide and cover all travel arrangements and expenses.

What You'll Work On

  • Machine or system design. 
  • Create detailed design specifications, manufacturing instructions, assembly drawings, and testing protocols. 
  • Testing of prototype equipment. 
  • Execute quality control processes to resolve production problems. 
  • Develop new consumables through applied research. 
  • Assist in the design and implementation of safety mechanisms and controls for industrial machinery.

Basic Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or having achieved a bachelor's degree in engineering (or engineering technology) by June 2027 
  • Eligible to work in the U.S. on a full-time, permanent basis without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications

  • An engineering degree in any of the following disciplines: Mechanical, Electrical, Computer, Chemical, Industrial, Material Science, Welding, Packaging, Metallurgy, Computer Science. 
  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.0. 
  • Desire to work in a manufacturing environment. 
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
